ABOUT US

The Scouting concept began in 1907 when Lt. Gen. Robert Baden-Powell took a group of youth to a camp on Brownsea Island in the United Kingdom.

15th Lethbridge Group was formed in 1956. As part of the Scouts Canada organization, we help youth have fun discovering new things and experiences they wouldn't have elsewhere. With conscience efforts made to bring a low cost year long quality program, our program provides significant value.

Group Structure

Our group is run entirely by volunteers.  Scouters work directly with the youth at each meeting and outing.  There are also Group Committee members work indirectly with the youth by assisting the program development, organizing the funding, providing equipment, etc.

Whether you are interested in working with the youth or take a more administrative role, volunteers are always welcome!

Volunteer candidates must successfully complete all of the required screening (Reference check, Interview, Police Record Check with a  Vulnerable Sector Search) and training (online and mentor-ship).

If you are interested in finding out more information on a volunteer role, visit our 'volunteer' page.

When we first formed in 1956, our dedicated volunteers kept a log book of the adventures!
