WELCOME TO OUR PROGRAM INFO PAGE
Scouts is the start of something great.
Scouting makes a difference in the lives of children, youth and young adults. Providing opportunities for youth to grow, achieve new "firsts" and develop into citizens of the world. Scouts are more likely to demonstrate great self-confidence and optimism about what the future hold. They express a strong sense of civic responsibility and have a desire to "pay back" the community. They become more physically fit, energetic, outgoing, conscientious and compassionate. And they have a lot of fun!

PROGRAM QUALITY STANDARDS
Scouts Canada has established standards to assist youth and their Scouters as they seek to plan, do and review safe and adventurous Scouting Programs. The program standards framework includes objective criteria to aid in the planning process, and to serve as a set of self-assessment tools to assist youth and Scouters in the evaluation and improvement of their programs. The youth and Scouters evaluate their program every cycle (fall, winter, spring and summer).
To maintain a quality program for the youth, each section program must include:
1 meeting outdoors
PER CYCLE (SEASON)
1 Outing, visit or event (Beavers), 2 Outings, visits or events (Cubs, Scouts, Vents and Rovers)
PER SCOUTING YEAR
1 environmental service project, 2 community service projects and 3 activities with parent participation. 4 nights away (Beavers), 8 nights away (Cubs) or 12 nights away (Scouts, Vents and Rovers).
CHILD SAFETY & ACCESSIBILITY
Your youth's safety is important to us. Our Scouters are trained to assess youth safety at every meeting. Outings that are outside and away from the regular meeting place are assessed by the Group Committee and steps are taken to make sure that the program is safe and accessible for all youth. If you have any questions about youth safety or accessibility, please feel free to contact us.
